Minna Banawan, MSW, LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate

Minna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) providing mental health services to teens, young adults, and adults. Minna works with older children, teens, and adults. She is an Independent Contractor, not an employee, thus is individually responsible for all aspects of client care. However, she practices under the supervision of her approved LCMHC supervisor. She is independently insured and manages her own practice.

Minna earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2020. She then earned a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2024. She obtained licensure as an LCMHC-A through the North Carolina licensing board.

Minna has experience with family-centered cultures, the Muslim community, and the LGBTQ+ community, as well as children of all ages, teens, and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more.

Minna is trained with Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and is currently working towards being trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She is dedicated to maintaining a trauma-informed lens with her practice.

In her free time, Minna spends time with her family, crafts at cafes, and reads science fiction and fantasy. She dabbles in Dungeons and Dragons, and enjoys a good board game as well.

Minna currently accepts Aetna, BCBS, Cigna, Medcost, MHN, Out of Network, and Self Pay. She sees clients in person in our Mint Hill office and Virtually with afterschool and evening availability.
