Christian Cagle, MSW, LCSW

Christian obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology along with a minor in Biology from the University of North Carolina - Greensboro (UNCG). He then went on to receive a Master’s in Social Work at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill (UNC) with a focus on Direct Clinical Practice. Christian has a background in behavioral health practice and community-based treatment facilities specifically providing intensive outpatient services and individual therapy.
Christian's practice is focused on adolescents (11+) and adults by providing individual, group, and family therapy. He has experience & training in addressing mental health and behavioral needs such as Anxiety, Depression, Suicidal ideation, PTSD, Trauma, and Substance Abuse as well as Life Transition Issues and Family Functioning and Dynamics. Christian has a special interest in young adults and the LGBTQ+ community and facilitates acceptance and safety in his practice.
Christian uses a variety of therapeutic interventions depending on the client’s needs. Among the solution-oriented treatments he draws from are Traditional Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Christian is part of the MACS DBT team and provides both individual and group Dialectical Behavior Therapy. He is also trained in EMDR and provides EMDR therapy to clients. Christian is the clinical lead of the LGBTQ+ Group at MACS.
Christian works to empower clients, build insight, and provide practical tools for clients to use. He incorporates mindfulness activities in sessions and believes in a mind-body balance.
Therapy is a collaborative effort between the individuals and the therapist which Christian works diligently to support. When a client is an active participant in their treatment and is committed to applying the knowledge gained through their therapy session to life, positive and powerful changes can happen. Clients describe Christian as trustworthy, understanding, inclusive and empathetic all while providing the right tools to attain their goals
Christian accepts Aetna, BCBS, CBHA, Medcost, MHN, Out of Network, and Self Pay.
Christian sees clients in the office Wednesday- Friday and virtually on Mondays & Tuesdays. He currently has some afterschool and evening availability.
